In April, Bryn Hardcastle and Deanna Carpenter visited Israel along with representatives of Otsana Capital and BDO Perth as well as a number of private investors. Also travelling to Israel was a delegation of senior representatives of ASX.
At an ASX-focused conference entitled ‘A New Horizon – Funding Opportunities in Australia’, Bryn and Deanna joined Eddie Grieve (Head of Listings and Issuer Services, ASX) and James Posnett (Senior Manager Listing Business Development, ASX), as well as Faldi Ismail (Managing Director, Otsana Capital) and Adam Myers (Partner, Corporate Finance, BDO Perth) in delivering presentations outlining the benefits and process of listing on the ASX and their respective experience in listing Israeli businesses. Paul Israel, Executive Director of the Israel-Australia, NZ & Oceania Chamber of Commerce also provided a presentation regarding the growing relationships between Israeli businesses and Australia. The conference was well attended with over 100 participants, many of whom were representing Israeli companies considering a potential listing. The conference was hosted by prominent Israel law firm Goldfarb Seligman.
The group also met with the Israel-based management and technical teams of ASX-listed Israeli businesses, Dotz Nano Ltd and eSense-Lab Ltd. Bellanhouse was the Australian legal adviser to eSense in its IPO, which was the first listing of an Israel-incorporated company, in February 2017. Bellanhouse also acted for Dotz in connection with its reverse takeover and re-compliance listing. The other key Australian advisers in both of these transactions included Otsana Capital and BDO.
Also visiting Israel was the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, Minister for the Environment and Energy, who spoke at a lunch event hosted by the Israel-Australia, NZ & Oceania Chamber of Commerce. Minister Frydenberg was visiting Israel to boost bilateral cooperation on the environment and explore innovative energy technologies. The lunch was well attended by Australian and Israeli business leaders in the environment and technology industries.
Along with Otsana and BDO, Bryn and Deanna also met with a number of Israeli technology companies considering a potential listing on ASX.
No trip to Israel is complete without a tour of the Old City, with the group taken on a whirlwind tour of Jerusalem after a cleansing and mud-slinging experience at the Dead Sea.
